By VietnamRanker Editorial·

The 2026-27 LPBank V.League 1 kicked off on 4 September 2026 and runs to 22 May 2027. The opening round drew about 64,000 fans across seven matches, an average of more than 9,100 a game, according to Báo Văn Hóa. Most league games kick off at 7:15pm, so there is a lot of football to catch over the next few months.
We ranked five grounds on atmosphere and crowds, how easy the stadium and its tickets are for a visitor, history, and comfort. Capacity figures differ between sources, and clubs set ticket prices match by match, so treat every number below as a guide and confirm on the club's ticketing page before you go.
Note: Since the July 2025 mergers, Nam Định belongs to Ninh Bình Province. Hải Phòng and Hà Nội kept their names. Stadium addresses below use the names locals still use.

1. Thiên Trường Stadium, Nam Định
- Address: Nam Định ward, Ninh Bình Province (about 90 km south of Hà Nội)
- Hours: Evening league games, usually 7:15pm. Check the fixture list.
- Price: Set by the club for each match. Older reports quote 20,000 VND for the B stand in 2018.
Thiên Trường is the stadium most associated with full stands in the V.League. VPF data cited by local media put average attendance here at about 13,230 per match in 2023-24, far above most other grounds. The capacity is listed at about 30,000, and the stadium has four stands (A–D) and 20 gates. Fans nicknamed it "the factory that weaves wishes", a nod to Old Trafford and to Nam Định's textile history.
The ground has also hosted women's football at the 2003 SEA Games and Vietnam national team qualifiers. Nam Định is a small city, so most visitors come by car or bus from Hà Nội and go home after the game.
Why it ranks #1: The crowd noise, the flags and the density of local support are the best in the league. Downside: Big games sell out quickly, and there is little late-night transport back to Hà Nội.
2. Lạch Tray Stadium, Hải Phòng
- Address: 15 Lạch Tray Street, Hải Phòng (former Ngô Quyền District)
- Hours: Evening games, usually 7:15pm. Ticket booths at the main gate are reported open from about 8:00am to 5:00pm on sale days.
- Price: Reported at about 100,000 VND for the A and B stands and 50,000–70,000 VND for C and D, with the A VIP section higher. Prices rise for big fixtures.
Lạch Tray opened in 1958 on a former horse farm and has been rebuilt several times, most recently in 2021. It holds about 30,000 and has a Bermuda grass pitch of 105 × 68 metres. It hosted matches at the 2004 AFF Championship. The nickname locals use is "the fire pan", a reference to how loud it gets when Hải Phòng play a big rival.
The ground sits inside the city, so you can reach it by taxi or Grab from the centre.
Why it ranks #2: It combines strong support with a central location and a long football history. Downside: Authorities have had to warn fans about flares and fireworks, and tickets for the best fixtures are bought early.
3. Vinh Stadium, Nghệ An
- Address: Vinh, Nghệ An Province
- Hours: Evening games, usually 7:15pm
- Price: About 80,000–150,000 VND per match for a single ticket, according to published reports. Season passes are reported at 500,000–1,250,000 VND.
Vinh is the home of Sông Lam Nghệ An, one of the league's older and most followed clubs. The ground was built in 1973 with German support and reopened in 2003. In 2016 about 6,000 seats were added to the B stand. Sources list the capacity anywhere from 12,000 to 20,000, so expect "about 18,000".
The opening ceremony of the 2026-27 season was held here and drew roughly 12,000 fans, the biggest crowd of the first round. As of 23 October 2026, Sông Lam led the table with 11 points from 5 games, so the mood is good. Hồng Lĩnh Hà Tĩnh has also shared the ground since 2025.
Why it ranks #3: Fans here follow the club all season, not just in big games. Downside: Vinh is far from Hà Nội (about 300 km), so it needs a night in the city.
4. Hàng Đẫy Stadium, Hà Nội
- Address: Hàng Đẫy area, Ô Chợ Dừa, Hà Nội
- Hours: Evening games, usually 7:15pm
- Price: Tickets for the August 2026 Super Cup at the ground were reported at 20,000–80,000 VND depending on the stand. League prices vary.
Hàng Đẫy opened as a football field in 1934 and was rebuilt in 1958. It hosted the 1998 Tiger Cup final and football at the 2003 SEA Games. Công an Hà Nội play here in the 2026-27 season, and it was the venue for about 9,000 fans in their opening game against Hồng Lĩnh Hà Tĩnh. Hanoi FC also play some home games here, for example against Sông Lam Nghệ An on 12 September.
The ground is old, and Wikipedia notes that the upper level of stand B has been unusable. A large renovation was proposed but not scheduled.
Why it ranks #4: It's in the middle of the capital and has the most history. Downside: Facilities are dated, and capacity is lower than its listed 22,500. Tickets are sold through the club, so check datve.cahnfc.com.
5. Mỹ Đình National Stadium, Hà Nội
- Address: 1 Lê Đức Thọ Road, Từ Liêm Ward, Hà Nội
- Hours: Evening games, usually 7:15pm
- Price: Set by the home club for each match. Hanoi FC sells tickets at muave.hanoifc.com.vn.
Mỹ Đình opened in September 2003 and holds 40,192 seats, the largest ground in the league. It hosted the 2003 SEA Games ceremonies, the 2007 AFC Asian Cup and the 2021 SEA Games. In 2026-27 it is the listed home of Hanoi FC and Thể Công–Viettel, but both clubs play some matches elsewhere.
League crowds rarely fill it, and pitch quality has been criticised since 2021. The upside is access: it is on the capital's western side, taxis and Grab are plentiful, and seats are usually easier to find than at the smaller grounds.
Why it ranks #5: It has the best facilities and is the easiest to reach. Downside: Even a decent crowd looks thin in a 40,000-seat bowl, so the atmosphere is weakest here.
Practical tips
- Check the venue the week before. Clubs move games between grounds. Hanoi FC have played at both Mỹ Đình and Hàng Đẫy this season.
- Ho Chi Minh City clubs are away from home. Thống Nhất Stadium is being rebuilt, with work due to finish in 2027, so Công an TP.HCM and other city sides use Gò Đậu in Bình Dương for now.
- Buy early for big games. Games against title rivals and local derbies are the most likely to sell out. Use the home club's official ticketing, and avoid resellers.
- Dress for the weather. Games in the north can be cold and damp from December to February.
- Expect a long night. Games end around 9:00pm, and public transport in smaller cities is limited.
